As we continue to expand our presence in Latin America, we have recently welcomed Verónica Caravia to the team, who joins us as an M&A Business Development Executive. Verónica has great experience working with companies in the region and will help to support our growing pipeline of opportunities.
We caught up with Verónica to find out a bit more about her and why she chose Vesta as the next step in her career.
Tell us a bit about yourself and your background
I was born in Montevideo, Uruguay, and lived in Florida, a small city 100km from the capital, for part of my childhood. In 2004, my family and I moved to Montevideo, where I still live now with my husband Rafael.
Before starting university, I participated in a Work & Travel programme and spent a year living in Dublin, Ireland – it was a great experience!
After returning to Uruguay, I achieved my degree in Business Administration from Universidad Católica del Uruguay and an MBA certification from IEEM – Escuela de Negocios de la Universidad de Montevideo.
I have experience working in Business Development with a profile in consultative sales, and have also worked in finance, operations and entrepreneurship across multiple industry sectors.
What made you choose Vesta as the next step in your career?
I strongly believe this opportunity will be a great challenge in my professional career. Working with a group of international companies and an excellent team will provide me with more knowledge and useful tools for my future.
What are your top three books / podcasts?
‘The Everyday Hero Manifesto’ by Robin Sharma and all the books written by Borja Vilaseca.
What do you enjoy doing out of work?
I love travelling and spending time with family and friends. I’m also a big fan of movies and sitcoms!
Who inspires you?
In terms of my professional life, I think it would have to be my parents, because they always instilled in me a working lifestyle and all the responsibilities around that. In other aspects of my life, it would be my husband Rafael, for being a strong and persevering person.
If you could learn to do absolutely anything, what would it be?
To sing and play some instruments!
What is your favourite quote?
‘Live simply, dream big, be grateful, give love, laugh lots’
