We’re excited to introduce Lorena Veiga as our new Group Leader for Latin America! Lorena steps into this role after five impactful years at GeneXus Consulting, one of our portfolio companies, where she worked across the project management, business development and consulting landscape.
Now, as a Group Leader, Lorena will focus on supporting our portfolio companies across the LATAM region, fostering long-term growth, encouraging collaboration, and helping great people thrive.
Tell us a bit about yourself and your background
I’m based in Montevideo, Uruguay. I’m a Software Engineer and hold an MBA, and my career has always been rooted in consulting – working at the intersection of strategy, technology, processes, and organisational design.
Over the years, I’ve had the chance to collaborate with public sector clients and international organisations like the IDB, ECLAC, and the World Bank, especially on trade and digital transformation initiatives in Latin America. I also teach at ORT University in Uruguay – something I’ve been doing for almost 20 years and still really enjoy.
For the last five years, I’ve been part of GeneXus Consulting, where I’ve held various leadership roles in project management, business development, and most recently as Business Unit Leader for the Consulting division.
What drew you to take on a central role with Vesta after working within one of our portfolio companies?
Being part of GeneXus Consulting gave me firsthand experience of Vesta’s values and long-term vision. What really attracted me to this central role was the opportunity to keep contributing to companies I care deeply about, while supporting collaboration, talent growth and expansion in the region.
Vesta’s belief that “great people make great companies” truly resonates with me – and I’m excited to be part of a group that invests in people and long-term impact.
What are your goals for the next 12 months?
I’d love to contribute to strengthening both the Vesta LATAM team and the network of LATAM portfolio companies. I want to identify opportunities to help people and organisations grow, and to support the leaders of our companies in the region.
I also hope to contribute to bringing Vesta’s knowledge and best practices into LATAM, while always respecting the values and uniqueness of each company.
If you could learn to do anything, what would it be?
I’d love to learn to play an instrument – probably the piano… Or to sing!
What is your favourite quote?
I say “¡Vamo’ arriba!” all the time – it’s a very Uruguayan way of saying “Let’s go!” or “We’ve got this!”. It’s simple, uplifting, and full of energy, just like the attitude I try to bring to work and life. I always try to face challenges with positivity and joy, no matter how tough things get.
