Group Leader Fabricio Gonzalez

We’re thrilled to welcome Fabricio González Antuña to the Vesta family as our new LATAM Group Leader. Fabricio joins us with a wealth of experience in technology, product development, and innovation leadership – and he’s already bringing fresh energy and insights to our growing Latin American team.

In our latest Q&A, we sat down with Fabricio to learn more about his background, vision, and what makes him tick.

Tell us a bit about yourself and your background

I’m a Uruguayan technologist with over two decades in the software world, where I’ve had the chance to found and lead my own companies, guide teams through the early stages of product creation, and bring new ideas to market. My work spans AI-powered tools, VR learning experiences, and electric-vehicle solutions.

I currently teach courses in Data Science and Machine Learning, co-author research – including a scientific paper on virtual reality in education – and recently published a book that helps everyday people understand how electric mobility is transforming the way we move. I’m driven by a curiosity for emerging technologies and a deep interest in building products that make a difference.

What made you choose Vesta as the next step in your career?

Vesta’s “buy and hold” mindset, combined with its product-first philosophy, really resonated with me. The Group Leader role offers the chance to collaborate closely with portfolio leadership, mentor teams, and help shape strategies that unlock strategic growth and innovation. It felt like a place where my approach to product-building and long-term value creation could truly flourish.

What are your goals for the next 12 months?

In the next year, I’m focused on supporting the portfolio companies as they continue to grow and evolve in a competitive and fast-changing environment. I want to help each team stay true to what makes them unique, while encouraging collaboration, shared learning, and a practical approach to innovation – especially when it comes to using AI to improve their products, operations, and customer experience.

What are your top three books / podcasts?

  • Inspired by Marty Cagan (a go‑to reminder of what product excellence really looks like)
  • Good to Great by Jim Collins (a thoughtful exploration of what sets enduring organisations apart)
  • Volt FM Podcast (my own show on electric-vehicle trends in Uruguay and Latin America—mixing conversation, analysis, and curiosity)

What do you enjoy doing out of work?

I enjoy spending time with family and friends, discovering new places through travel, and listening to new music. These moments help me recharge, stay curious, and keep a fresh perspective on both life and work.

If you could learn to do anything, what would it be?

I’d love to learn how to fly planes – it’s a mix of precision, focus, and freedom that really inspires me.

What is your favourite quote?

“The best way to predict the future is to invent it.” — Alan Kay
