We’re delighted to welcome Lucas Fagundes to Vesta as our new M&A Business Development Executive, supporting our LATAM team. Based in São Paulo, Brazil, Lucas will play a key role in expanding our presence across the region, building relationships with vertical market software companies and identifying new acquisition opportunities to strengthen our global growth strategy.

Tell us a bit about yourself and your background

I was born and currently live in São Paulo, and I’ve been passionate about technology from an early age. I have more than 12 years of experience in business development, with a strong focus on consultative sales of technology solutions — particularly in data, analytics and artificial intelligence. Throughout my career, I’ve worked for technology companies and large consulting firms, leading complex negotiations across sectors such as technology, retail, industry, financial services and healthcare. I hold a degree in Systems Analysis and Development and an MBA in Technology for Business.

What made you choose Vesta as the next step in your career?

I was drawn to Vesta because it gives me the opportunity to apply my technology experience from a new strategic perspective. The chance to contribute to M&A activities and help shape Vesta’s growth in Brazil and Latin America was very appealing. I’m excited to lead conversations, build meaningful relationships and play a part in supporting the company’s broader global expansion.

What are your goals for the next 12 months?

Professionally, my goal is to introduce Vesta to key software companies in Brazil — building strong, trust-based relationships that create long-term value for both sides. I also want to contribute actively to identifying new acquisition opportunities and positioning Vesta as a strategic partner in the region.

On a personal level, I’d love to travel more over the next few years, especially to countries outside Latin America, to experience new cultures and broaden my perspective.

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

I enjoy spending time with friends, going out, being at the beach and connecting with nature. I’m also passionate about technology and cars. Depending on the moment (and how engaging the story is), I enjoy playing a good video game.

If you could learn to do anything, what would it be?

I come from a family of musicians, so if I could learn anything, it would probably be to play a musical instrument — preferably the guitar or piano.

What are your top three book or podcast recommendations?

I’m a big fan of science fiction, especially the works of Isaac Asimov, but my three favourite books are:

  • 2001: A Space Odyssey
  • I, Robot
  • A Short History of Nearly Everything
