We’re delighted to be expanding our M&A department in the Latin America region even further this year, after recently welcoming Gabriel Delgado Ballesteros to the team as a Business Development Executive. In this article, we caught up with Gabriel to find out more about him and his background.
Tell us a bit about yourself and your background
I was born in Mexico City, which is where I reside today. I completed a BA degree in International Business before moving onto my MBA.
At the beginning of my career, I was an International Business Consultant and, later, was fortunate to use this knowledge to dedicate the last 13 years to business development in sectors such as technology, software, advertising and retail.
What made you choose Vesta as the next step in your career?
I wanted to take on a new challenge where I knew I could be a part of the company’s growth, and after doing my research on Vesta, I knew this would be the case! I feel that my experience can contribute to our expanding presence in the region, from Mexico, crossing Central America to Panama.
What are your top three books / podcasts?
- Mossad (secret history) by Thomas Gordon
- Dan Brown (all books, e.g., Davinci Code, Deception Point, Lost Symbol, etc)
- Horse of Troy (12 books saga) by J.J. Benitez
What do you enjoy doing out of work?
I love to spend time with my family – particularly with my boys Bruno and Andre who love to play soccer, PlayStation etc. I also go on daily jogs with Dasher, my Golden Retriever.
Every week I like to make time to spend a couple of hours on myself; nowadays my favourite hobby is golf, which I often play with my brother and friends.
Who inspires you?
My immediate answer would have to be my children. Seeing them happy and laughing is priceless and always makes me want to continue to improve and grow.
If you could learn to do absolutely anything, what would it be?
I would love to learn another language like Mandarin or Japanese.
